Next, measure and cut a flat piece of plastic so that it sits in the coin tray, angling from the bottom aft of the coin tray to the upper front. You're going to have to cut a lot of this plastic to get the Ipod interface to fit into the aft end. Masking tape (the blue painter's tape works outstanding)įirst, you must orient the coin tray in the proper direction! The end with the tabs close together is the aft end while it's sitting in the car. Wire connectors to connect the cheapo cigarette lighter adapter to the wiring that goes into the back of the cigarette lighter in the car. ![]() ![]() Phillips screwdriver to take apart the center console Drill with bit just slightly larger than the hole in the flip-top squeeze bottle Dremel tool with cut-off wheel, drum sander, and small routing bit Spray-on adhesive, such as the 3M Trim adhesive you can find a Pep Boys. I bought a grey industrial double light switch cover at Lowe's to use for this.Ĥ. Flat plastic piece that you can use a Dremel to mold. They had several different ones that are meant to connect an Ipod to Kenwood head units, but they are actually pretty universal in nature.ģ. I found this in the car audio section of Best Buy. You can either get the Blitzsafe with the integrated Ipod interface, or do what I did and buy a Kenwood Ipod car stereo adapter with line out/USB.
